Allegra Versace comes from a family made famous by the late Italian designer, Gianni Versace. She is the daughter of the designer's sister, Donatella Versace, who is also a fashion designer and the current Chief Designer and Vice President of the Versace Group. Allegra also owns 50% of the company according to her late uncle's will, so her opinion matters on the sales and other significant details on the clothing line.
Allegra Versace is referred to as “Beck” by her family. She became more known to the world when her mother admitted that she was being treated for Anorexia Nervosa. That was back in 2007 when she was 20 years old.
Speculation that Allegra Versace might be anorexic came up when she started looking very thin and almost skeletal. Donatella reported that her daughter has been battling the eating disorder for several years already. However, it is reported that she is responding well to the best medical treatment being provided to her. Donatella Versace has requested that the public and the media respect her daughter's privacy during her ongoing recovery from the eating disorder.

Considered as a mental illness, is characterised by extreme fear of weight gain and too much weight loss, which renders a person's appearance to be almost skeletal.
